The faculty and staff of Central Baptist Preschool are committed Christians called by God to teach, train and minister to the whole child: spirit, soul, and body. We believe our teachers are important role models and have a tremendous impact on the lives of our children. They will teach and evaluate, plan and prepare, relate and counsel, pray and care.
Our staff looks forward to serving the needs of your child! Please pray for them and give them your respect and encouragement.
Hi Everyone! It is such an honor to be here at CBC Preschool. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in May of 2013 and began working here at Central in September of that same year. I began as a substitute/floater and moved to a position as co-teacher in the Dragonflies class. I then moved to the front office where I served as the preschool’s Administrative Assistant for two years. I was ecstatic when, in 2017, I was granted the opportunity to become the Assistant Director. In October of 2018, I became the Director. I cherish every day that I get to see your sweet little ones grow, explore, and learn about God’s love for each of them! I recently graduated from Liberty University with my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling, and will go on to specialize in Play Therapy. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for CBC Preschool in the coming years. I adore building relationships with each of our fantastic preschool families, and look forward to meeting new families soon! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me here at the center with any needs that may arise. Be Blessed!
Hey, I’m Nikki! I am originally from just outside of Greenville, NC. I moved to Wendell in 2014 and I have worked here at CBC Preschool since then. Initially, I worked as an afternoon assistant for the Fireflies class, then the Crickets. In my second year here, I began working as a full time co-teacher, and in May of 2017 was asked to step in as Administrative Assistant. I have served in various ministries of my church for many years and love being able to see the Lord working in the lives of young children. I intend to go back to school in the Fall for early childhood education. I am so excited and humbled by the opportunity to work with each of your children every day, and I count it such a joy to be able to watch them explore the world around them while learning about Jesus’ love for them!

Our oldest child is working as a chemist, our middle child is a mutual fund research analyst, and our youngest enters high school in 2017. Our house of worship and service is The Passage Church in Wendell. Hello! I am blessed to be part of the staff at Central Baptist Preschool. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Child Life from East Carolina University. My husband and I have a beautiful baby girl named Melody whom we welcomed into the world in September 2015. Children’s early years are critical to their development, and having a Christ-centered foundation is the beginning to a successful future. My passion for working with children began when I took a child development class in high school. I have had various internship, practicum and volunteer opportunities in child care, early intervention and hospital settings where I have gained valuable experience in working with children. I was raised in a Christian home and at the age of thirteen, I received Jesus Christ as my Savior with all my heart. God is just amazing! I love serving the Lord and enjoy working with children. Here at Central Baptist Preschool I am able to do both! I hope to be a blessing in children’s lives and to be able to make a difference
Barbie Jones, Co-Teacher
Hi, I’m Mrs. Barbie! I have an Associates Degree in Business Administration. I have learned, though, that sometimes God’s perfect plan steers us in a different direction than what we have planned! I have been working with children in various capacities for over 25 years. I have taught Sunday School, lead Bible School classes, and homeschooled all three of my children. We were also heavily involved in various cooperative education activities as a homeschool family. I have worked here at CBC Preschool at various times over the past five years. When people ask me “how do you spend your time with a room FULL of littles?” My response is simple– What a tremendous privilege that God has given me the opportunity to plant seeds for HIM! What other job allows you to instill Christ into the hearts of children, lets you love on and be loved from these precious gifts from God, and encourages you play everyday while at work?! I’m looking forward to spending this school year with you and your little ones!

Hi! I am a retired elementary teacher with over 30 years of experience. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Almeda University. After retiring in November 2016, I began seeking God’s direction in what He would have me to do. I know it was God that directed me to Central Baptist Preschool. I love teaching children, especially teaching them God’s principles and Bible verses. I hope they will hide these verses in their hearts and apply them to their lives. I am excited to work with you and help you in teaching your child. I feel it is an honor and privilege that you have entrusted me with your most prized possession—your child.

Hi! My name is Haley Harper and I grew up in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I went to Southeastern Free Will Baptist College and studied Elementary Education. This is my fourth year teaching at Central. I previously taught in the firefly classroom and was in charge of the School Age Program. I love teaching little minds and having fun in the classroom. I am so excited to get this year started and learn more about YOU!
My name is Kathleen Snyder and I am the K4 Co-Teacher. I am honored that you have chosen to entrust your precious little one to our care here at Central Baptist Preschool. As the mother of two, I completely understand the many emotions you may be experiencing, whether your little one has been under our care for some time or you are sending your little one off to school for the first time. I recall how I felt when the time came to send my children off to school…and now again I am experiencing a season of separation as my daughter, Meghan, is settled into college life and my son, Ryan, has finished college and begun the next phase of his life’s journey. The Lord has given me a tender heart for preschool-age children and I know my position here is a “Divine” appointment. I began working with preschool-age children in 1998; and through the years, have not only been in the classroom, but have also been active in many aspects of children’s and adult ministries. My husband, Mark, and I live in Wendell and are members of Hephzibah Baptist Church. I am committed to loving, instructing, encouraging and guiding your child while he or she is in my care. Our time will not only be spent learning to recognize our ABC’s but also recognizing the need to have a relationship with our Lord and Savior…Jesus Christ. Thank you for giving me the privilege of spending time with your child and I look forward to becoming acquainted with you and seeing what the Lord will accomplish in our lives this year. You may contact me here at the preschool with any questions or concerns between the hours of 7-3 each day…please don’t hesitate.

I graduated from East Wake High School in 2017. During school and after graduation, I had no idea what my plans were. Going through a lot of trials growing up, God made it clear what He wanted me to do. God has blessed me with the amazing gift of being able to love, care for, and teach! Everyone has a story or a testimony. Being a teacher at CBC is a part of mine! I started as a teacher in the Kitten classroom in the middle of the 2018-2019 school year. I am super excited to teach in the Tigers this upcoming year! Thank you for allowing me to share Jesus’ love with your children and to help them grow!

My name is Christi Ferrell. I have three grown daughters and one teenage daughter. I also have four grandchildren! I am passionate about children.
